Emily Stears
Born to an English father and a Brazilian mother in Buckinghamshire, England, Emily had the opportunity to experience two very different worlds during her childhood and adolescence, a time spent between London and São Paulo.
After high school, her interest in design led her to study Architecture & Urbanism in São Paulo for two years, followed by a year in Miami studying photography.
On her return to the UK, Emily went on to study Photojournalism, complemented by technical courses in Photoshop, Dreamweaver and QuarkXpress.
Working throughout her studies, Emily taught Business English as a CELTA qualified teacher, as well as taking on proofreading and translating work.
In 2005, an attractive teaching opportunity brought Emily to Zurich, Switzerland, where she now works as a freelance photographer and writer.
